Breakfast Seminar on Family Related Employment Law – 6 October 2016
In conjunction with Attic Recruitment, we invite you to our seminar on Thursday 6 October 2016 from 8.15am at Howat Avraam Solicitors, 154 – 160 Fleet Street, London, EC4A 2DQ.
Now, more than ever, failure to adapt employment strategy and policy to take account of the responsibilities of employers towards employees with childcare duties, could leave employers vulnerable and open to a whole myriad of employment tribunal claims.
Following the vote to leave the European Union, the government is keen to provide assurances to employees that family related rights and protections in employment, will not be eroded. A reduction in tribunal fees for pregnancy-related discrimination claims and further protection from redundancy following maternity leave, is already under review.
This seminar will examine the law in relation to employees with childcare responsibilities and guide employers on best practice for managing requests for time off and flexible working. We will focus on:
Pregnancy and Maternity: Avoiding the Pitfalls
Flexible Working: How to deal with requests
Shared Parental Leave: How far have we come?
Rights and responsibilities towards mums and dads
To do Lists for Employers
The seminar will include a presentation by Niki Avraam, Head of Employment Law at Howat Avraam Solicitors, case studies and a question and answer session.
9.00am Case Studies
If you and/or a colleague would like to attend the Seminar, please email Niki Avraam at firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone 020 7884 9700.
